About the Course:

If creativity is your forte and thinking out of the box is what drives your passion, this course could be for you. This creative and business focused course gives you an excellent understanding of communication, advertising, journalism and public relations principles as well as the chance of working with real clients on creative briefs through various channels. You'll also get the chance to undertake an industry work placement which gives you valuable work experience and a portfolio of work that you can use to impress potential employers. This program is contemporary and cutting edge, focusing on providing students with the knowledge both theoretically and practically to have a successful career in advertising, corporate/organizational communication, journalism, development sector / digital media and public relations. This degree is professional and challenging, providing students with the opportunity to develop their practical skills and an understanding of the media industry.

Teaching and Assessment:

Our teaching styles are likely to be unique, productive and amongst the best. Much of the course is taught in workshop format, where students get to work on key issues and also produce practical work. Assessment will usually be through a combination of individual and group work, presentations, essays, reports, projects, tests and examinations. 

Career Progression:

You may find work as a reporter, editor, public relation officer, radio jockey, anchor, feature writer, commentator, or production worker in broadcast, print or online. The industry placement programmer you will undertake as part of your course is particularly valuable for making contacts and can often lead to an offer of employment. Placements are a vital opportunity to gain industry experience and so potential employers, what you are capable of.After completion of the course, the students can expect to find placements in the fields like online content developer, advertising, copy writing, corporate communication, film making, video journalist, photo journalist, event organizer, reporting, editing (print or broadcast), feature writing, anchors, production workers, public relations officers to name a few.
